Spur — Community Guidelines
Effective date: July 4, 2026
Spur exists to help people beat loneliness by doing real things together. That only works if everyone feels safe and welcome. These are the rules. Breaking them can get your content removed and your account suspended or permanently banned.
(Note: these guidelines also satisfy app-store requirements for apps with user-generated content — we provide a clear code of conduct, in-app reporting and blocking, and a commitment to act on reports.)
Be a good human
- Show up. If you RSVP, come — or cancel early. Repeated no-shows hurt everyone and your reliability score.
- Be respectful. No harassment, hate speech, threats, bullying, or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Be real. No impersonation, fake profiles, or misleading events.
Not allowed
- Illegal activity, or organizing it.
- Sexual content, solicitation, or using Spur as a dating/hookup service in a way that makes others uncomfortable.
- Violence, threats, or anything that endangers people.
- Content involving or targeting minors.
- Spam, scams, or promoting unrelated products/services.
- Sharing others' private information without consent.
- Harassing someone after they've blocked you or declined you.
Safety tools
- Report any user, event, post, or message that breaks these rules. We review reports and aim to act on serious safety issues within 24 hours.
- Block anyone you don't want to interact with — they instantly disappear from your feed and messages, both ways.
- Women-only events are available and enforced.
Enforcement
Depending on severity, we may warn you, remove content, restrict features, suspend your account, or permanently ban you. Serious violations can result in a permanent ban that prevents re-registration.
