Spur / disclaimer

Spur — Community Safety Disclaimer

Effective date: July 4, 2026

Spur helps people meet in real life to do activities together. Please read this carefully — by using Spur you acknowledge and agree to the following.

Spur is an introduction platform, not a chaperone

Spur only helps people find and organize plans. We do not host, run, supervise, vet, or control events, and we are not present at them. We do not perform background checks on users. Verification features (phone, optional ID) reduce but do not eliminate risk, and do not guarantee anyone's identity, intentions, or safety.

You meet people at your own risk

Meeting people you don't know — and participating in activities — carries inherent risks, including injury, illness, theft, harassment, or other harm. You participate voluntarily and assume these risks yourself. Spur is not responsible for the actions of any user, host, venue, or other third party.

Please protect yourself

We strongly encourage you to: - Meet in public places, especially the first time. - Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting. - Trust your instincts and leave if something feels wrong. - Not share sensitive personal or financial information with people you've just met. - Drink responsibly and arrange safe transport. - Use the Block and Report tools if anyone makes you uncomfortable — we review reports and act on them.

Alcohol and venues

Some plans happen at bars or venues that serve alcohol. Spur does not serve alcohol and is not responsible for venues, their staff, their premises, or anything served or done there. You are responsible for complying with the law and drinking responsibly.

Emergencies

Spur is not an emergency service. If you are in danger or witness a crime, contact local emergency services (in Canada, call 911) immediately.

Reporting and enforcement

We take safety seriously. You can report users or content in-app, and we aim to review reports promptly (within 24 hours for serious safety issues). We may remove content and permanently ban users who put others at risk.

Acknowledgement

By checking the consent box and using Spur, you confirm that you have read and understood this disclaimer, that you are 18 or older, and that you accept the risks of meeting people in person and participating in activities arranged through the Service.
